Buddha images around Thailand come in all shapes and sizes. Some even claim to be record breakers. One such Buddha image is this one at Wat Buraphaphiram in Roi Et city.
Phra Buddha Rattana Mongkot Maha Muni is the tallest Standing Buddha in Thailand. It is 59.20 meters high from head to foot. Including the pedestal it is 67.85 meters.
The Standing Buddha, which is made from concrete, was built between 1973-1979. Inside the pedestal there is a shrine. There is also a gong that you rub. If it rings it will bring you good luck.
Around the back there are steps that take you up inside the Buddha to a viewing platform which is about half way up. Be careful if you go up as the steps are not used often.
