Throughout Bangkok and the rest of the Thailand there will be many countdown events to celebrate New Year 2013. However, only eight events are listed as being official. These are: Bangkok Countdown 2013, Chiang Mai Countdown 2013, Chiang Rai’s Miracle Thailand Countdown 2013, Pattaya Countdown 2013, Phuket Electric Music of Dance Festival 2013, Colorful Phuket Countdown 2013, Night Paradise Hat Yai and Countdown 2013, and Khon Kaen Countdown 2013.
The Bangkok Countdown 2013 event has been officially dubbed “Happiness is all Around @ Ratchaprasong”. As usual it will take place in front of Central World from about 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. This is the intersection with Ploenchit, Ratchaprasong and Pathum Wan. Ratchadamri Road will be closed in the evening to accommodate the large number of revelers that are expected to turn up. There is expected to be live performances by Palmy, Ice Sarunyu, J Jetrin, Moderndog, Joey Boy, KPN, Lipta, Stamp and many more. This will be followed by fireworks.
