Many people keep asking me about the visiting the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace during Songkran. I can confirm that only on Monday 15 April 2013 will there be partial closing. On Monday the Grand Palace is closed ALL day and the Emerald Buddha chapel will close at noon. However you can walk around the Temple of the Emerald Buddha ALL day on Monday. It is also FREE on Monday. You will need to enter from the side door opposite the Ministry of Defence. You will also need to dress properly. Other days everything is open as normal.
