There are quite a few places around Bangkok that you can go to have some Songkran fun. But there aren’t many that are not only “family friendly” but also have something for everyone. Fitting the bill perfectly for this is the “Bangkok Songkran Festival” in front of CentralWorld. What they have on offer are four distinct zones with the themes: Carnival Zone, Entertainment Zone, Foam Party Zone and Water World Zone. As well as fun activities there is also a free concert featuring big names such as Joey Boy, Potato, Slot Machine, Big Ass, AB Normal and many more.
All of the zones are free but to join the Carnival Zone you need to collect a free coupon from either M2F, Bangkok Post or Post Today newspapers. The festival runs from 13-15 April 2013 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. The nearest skytrain station is BTS Chit Lom. One good thing about the location of this Songkran party is that if you need a break from the water and heat you can just pop into CentralWorld. To enter the area you need to go through a checkpoint. No alcohol is allowed to be brought in. Nor is powder. This makes Songkran at Centralworld good, clean fun.
